Are you having a hard time improving your bad breath while you align your smile? If so, we are here to help you! Bad breath generally develops when your oral hygiene needs a boost, so it’s time to kick it up a notch. If you do the following things, you will be on the right track:
· Brush your teeth: Brushing your teeth after each meal will dramatically help with your bad breath. Brushing will remove the food particles that are wedged between your orthodontic appliance and teeth. We understand that brushing frequently could be inconvenient, but it is easier if you pack a travel-sized toothbrush and toothpaste with you at all times.
· Floss your smile: Flossing also helps with bad breath because it cleans the hard-to-reach areas of your mouth that your toothbrush couldn’t scrub. This will help remove the mysterious food particles that are causing bad breath but are hard to find. Make sure you floss after each meal and snack as well.
· Use mouthwash: Mouthwash is a beneficial and handy tool that will complete the cleaning job and will also give you a freshened breath. We recommend using a rinse that is either fluoride or antibacterial mouthwash.
If you do these three things, food won’t remain stuck in your braces and they won’t have a chance to send a smelly odor into your mouth, which will keep your breath fresh and clean.
